The Summer of Love: November 16 - 18, 2007
It's been 40 years since the summer of love in 1967 when the hippie/peace movement
descended upon Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco to dance barefoot, listen to alternative
poetry and music and march for peace. Come spend the weekend costumed the way you think those in
the summer of love might have dressed. Wear those tie dyes, peace symbols, bell bottoms, vests,
strange looking glasses, sandals, assorted beads, fringed leather, and denim jackets. How did
those marchers for peace dress anyway?
Continuing our tradition of fun RGs we are having great food and beverages, open bar mixers,
speaker track, activity track, games tournaments, plus a variety of individual games and puzzles
running in the background. Mensa Dollars will be awarded to attendees during the convention based
on which activities they choose to complete. Mensa Dollars can be used in a variety of raffles
for goods and services. Saturday evening features dancing with Maria (just like last year) execpt
it's the "Summer of Love", the open bar mixer, and you are there in your marching for
peace/dancing/loving attire.
This year we are adding a video game room where Guitar Hero will be featured. Maybe we can round up
a copy of "Grand Theft Auto" for the adult but misfit Mensan. Let us hear your suggestions for video games.
